I thoroughly enjoyed the day at my first CC appointment and thanks go to the East of England officers and committee for inviting me to judge, plus my super efficient stewards for keeping me on the straight and narrow. Rather low in quantity but high in quality the majority of hounds were shown in hard, fit condition and my appreciation goes to all the exhibitors for their support and sportsmanship in accepting my decisions.
MINOR PUPPY DOG (1) (0)
1. MRS S NUTTALL - FLAXSIDE A WILL TO LIVE
Typy youngster with very dark correct coat. Handsome head, lovely set on and size of ear. Going through a leggy stage but good angulation fore and aft. Depth of chest okay for age with nice spring and topline. Moved well if a little disjointed.

JUNIOR DOG (2) (0)
1. MRS SJ TAYLOR – ORMANSTAR GABRIEL NORMAN
A close decision. This dark boy has a masculine head and strong neck into a well laid shoulder. Adequate forechest and although having a tendency to roach standing was better in topline on the move, lovely depth and spring of rib with good width of thigh and bend of stifle. Moved soundly.
2. MR MJ & MRS G PEACH – ERPINGHAM SEBASTIAN TO KILBOURNE
Another good male. Needs to deepen in chest but has lovely forechest and pasterns. Liked his width and well angulated hind quarters. Moved effortlessly.

POST GRADUATE DOG (4) (0)
1. MRS G PINK – GREYHAWKS ROMANIE CHOR
Really liked this young lad full of type and so well balanced. Plenty of width throughout with excellent pasterns, depth and spring of rib. Very powerful rear quarters which showed in his effortless movement. Pushed hard for the CC - will surely gain top honours. RCC
2. MISS SL & MISS N FINNETT & HEATHCOTE – HYNDSIGHT ENDLESSFLIGHT
Another substantial dog. Dark coated with strong neck and well angulated front. Good width again but not as angulated in pastern and stifle. Moved nicely.
3. MRS CJ TAYLOR – HODDINGREY PEREGRINE
LIMIT DOG (1) (0)
1. MR MJ & MRS G PEACH – TIOBRAID SOLO VENTURE TO KILBOURNE
Super type. Handsome head, albeit ears rather low set, but small enough. Powerful neck into lovely front assembly. Has curves in all the right places, is beautifully balanced which showed in his movement which was long, easy and true. CC BOB
OPEN DOG (6) (2)
1. MISS SL & MISS N FINNETT & HEATHCOTE – CH HYNDSIGHT DESPERADO
Solid dog with a nice head and the best of ears. Well off for bone, with excellent conformation, lovely sweep and back end. Moved with reach and drive, another close decision however would like a little more length of leg.
2. MRS S & MISS V BAUMANN & LUCAS – PACKWAY LOXLEY NORTON
Lovely dog that was unlucky to meet my winner today. Ears not his fortune but good in body, length and width throughout with nice fallaway. Moved with long true gait if a little close at times.
3. MR MJ & MRS G PEACH – CH KILBOURNE LLOYD

MINOR PUPPY BITCH (2) (1)
1. MRS S NUTTALL - FLAXSIDE AGAINST ALL ODDS
Eyecatching, young, dark coated bitch. Attractive head, dark eye and small well set ears. Very shapely and well angulated, but lacking depth in chest at the moment. Nicely balanced with good width behind. Covered the ground with ease. BP
PUPPY BITCH (0) (0)
JUNIOR BITCH (1) (1)
YEARLING BITCH (4) (0)
Quality class which bodes well for the future. Big shame one was being rather naughty.
1. MRS LA SPENCE – SHAGIEAD STORM SEAS (AI)
Caught the eye entering the ring and didn’t disappoint. Pretty head, dark eye, ears ok. Tight feet and well angled pasterns. Plenty of depth and ribbed well back. So shapely with powerful hind quarters enabling her to extend well on the move. RCC
2. MR MJ & MRS G PEACH & CANNON – KILBOURNE ETOILE
Another bitch that hits all the right notes. Much the same applies as to the winner, but not as good in topline on the move.
3. MR G & MRS NB BAILY – GREYFLAX PEARLS A SINGER
POST GRADUATE BITCH (5) (0)
1. MISS SL & MISS N FINNETT & HEATHCOTE – HYNDSIGHT RESTLESS SPIRIT
Powerful bitch capable of work. Strength and width throughout with excellent stifle and well let down hocks. Lovely depth but probably aided by a little lack of length in leg. Moved well.
2. MRS SJ TAYLOR – ORMANSTAR FAST CAT BETTY
Really liked this bitch and could reverse the decision on another day. Super head, eyes and ears. Strong neck into well laid shoulder, but a bit upright in upperarm. Good depth and correct rear quarters. Moved soundly.
3. MRS S NUTTALL – LUCKHURST PANI
LIMIT BITCH (2) (0)
1. MISS SL & MISS N FINNETT & HEATHCOTE – HYNDSIGHT CARELESS WHISPER
Another strong bitch from this kennel. Very shapely and well angulated with a back end to die for. Attractive head with nice small ears. Powerful neck, flat bone and well angulated pasterns. Good mover.
2. MR AK & MRS V LEWIS – LUCKHURST PALOMA
Dark bitch of super type. Classic head, small ears, dark eye and harsh coat, Good front construction, although rather upright in pastern. Nice depth and topline however rather weak behind which showed in her movement.
OPEN BITCH (1) (0)
1. MR G & MRS NB BAILEY – CH GREYFLAX LADY SINGS THE BLUES
Quality bitch in full furnishings. Very expressive head with soft, faraway look. Strong neck into well laid shoulders. Good depth, spring of rib and topline into lovely fallaway and rear quarters. Very sound mover with a long easy stride. CC
VETERAN BITCH (3) (1)
1. MRS LA SPENCE – SHAGIEAD MRS BRIDGES
Very nice girl who is well muscled but clearly enjoys her food. Lovely expressive head with smallest of ears. Well made with width and strength throughout. Good depth and correct rear angulation. Shorter in leg than my second but moved well. BV
2. MRS CJ TAYLOR – SAINT VALENTENE LILLY
Another nice oldie in full coat. Sweet head and expression. Powerfully made with good depth. Rather upright in pastern but moved well, however not quite as animated as my winner.
SPECIAL BEGINNERS BITCH (2)(0)
1. MRS S NUTTALL – LUCKHURST PANI
Nice type with pleasing head and sound mover. However rather steep in front and needing more depth of rib, but won this class on her movement. BSB
2. MISS S WHEELER – MENEGHY’S STAR
A more substantial bitch all over. Has a typical head with small ears and very waggy tail. Unhappy to extend behind both when standing and on the move.
